CMC Backyards wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to learn about our work, request a quote and contact us. We aim for our website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we do
- Pages are built with proper headings, labels and landmarks so screen readers can navigate them.
- Photos have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Menus, forms, the gallery viewer and buttons work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons are designed with readable color contrast, and pages work when zoomed to 200% and on phones.
- Background videos play muted and can be paused by your device's reduced-motion setting.
- We check new pages with automated accessibility testing and fix what we find.
Known limitations
- The interactive 3D sample designs and the map used to frame an aerial view need a mouse or touch screen and aren't fully usable with a screen reader. Everything they offer is also available by uploading a photo or calling us for a free in-person design.
- Project videos in our gallery show the finished work and generally have no spoken content. If a video has narration you need described, ask us.
- AI-generated designs are images. We describe them as “AI rendering of your new backyard”. Our team is happy to talk through any design with you by phone.
